How well I remember returning to look at Turner’s work over and over again when I lived in London. This one is indeed reminiscent of his paintings. I’m guessing you’re delighted with the exploration of your files.
How wonderful to live in London which has such an abundance of great museums. Paris too. Our visits to both were too short to take them all in.
Yes, I was delighted to have found such ‘accidental’ art – the way the printer ink bled and transferred to the adjacent sheet in the pile, the mold spots and so on. Of course not everything was lovely – I threw a lot away too. Thankfully they were only proofs.
What a happy accident! I agree about Turner – not only the colours, but that mistily seen shape in the distance. It reminds me of his Venice watercolours.
I love happy accidents. Even in printmaking when I used to do a lot of deep etching on copper, I would intentionally encourage that, with a bit of control of course.
It looks almost three dimensional.
Yes, there is a sense if depth in this.
