untitled
Another found image, not a photo this time but a small inkjet print. It was tucked amidst some Christmas card tests from my early digital printing days. I don’t remember what this is about, probably just some playing around while learning. I now find it rather intriguing to look at some fifteen years or so years after making it. Sort of like looking at one’s old drawings from art school days.

Marja-Leena, this picture reminds me of a video work of art by Mona Hatoum: a film of the human gullet, going down to the stomach. There is a nightmare-ish feeling of falling, falling, ….

Olga, as always you remember so many artists’ work – thanks for the link. I’m not sure I like thinking of this as an entrance to the human gullet, yikes. I see more of an eye here.
Sorry! I agree that if you turn the pic round to a landscape presentation an eye is definitely what first comes to mind. You must be having an interesting time sorting- it’s a great way of keeping the front of the brain busy while the back works away at new connections.
Oh, no apologies needed, Olga! I turned this image around every way but like this most. And I’d made some notes in the back, on bottom edge of this view. I wish I knew where the source of this image came from. And yes, going through stuff can be interesting and even inspiring at moments, even if only providing blog material sometimes, heh.
Oh, it’s most definitely eye-like and, no, I wouldn’t like to meet the owner face to face.
Susan, it seems somewhat reptilian, eh?
I just had to look and look, without trying to figure out what it meant. I was just captured by the sense of mystery.
Tom, yes, it is the kind of image that invites deep looking, with that whorl drawing the eye deep into the center.
