Thanks, Susan, for your kind words. The natural world is so very rich in fascinating images to capture with the eye and the camera, I would be very sad to see it all destroyed.

Hattie, have you been to some of BC’s Gulf Islands or the westcoast of Vancouver Island? Of course you may be recalling the beaches of California where you grew up. I remember some of the Oregon coast…
What I have seen on beaches from California to Washington looks like this. I guess it is one ecosystem.
Hattie, yes, it probably is one ecosystem, all being part of the Pacific coast of North America, though with variations of course in climate and local conditions.
Your Hawaiian beaches are of course glorious, though likely with some variations as well.
