a petroglyph photo
possibly a petroglyph on Hornby Island?
found amidst photos from another place where we’ve not seen petroglyphs
(evidence of non-existent photo filing in pre-digital days)

Sure looks like it.
Dave, I’ve photographed other petroglyphs on that island, so figured this must be one of them too. It’s more worn out compared to the others.
I have been really enjoying your ancient Britain photos.
Marja-Leena, I’m curious to see if this comment comes through. I’m at my main computer, and logged on with my WordPress account. On your previous post I commented from my laptop which is not logged on to WP.
Anyway, I’m interested in your petroglyph as by coincidence I’m about to start reading a book about Pictish pictograms.
What’s the title? I just blogged about some Pictish pictographs I saw last summer in King’s Cave on the Isle of Arran.
Olga, you made it without a detour via spam! You mentioned once before that you log into your WP account in order to comment. It’s all a mystery to me but I’m glad it’s working!
Pictish pictograms sound like my thing – hope you will write a review when you are done.
Dave – the title of the book is The Art of the Picts, by George Henderson and Isabel Henderson, published by Thames and Hudson.
Thanks—added to my Amazon wish list! It looks very authoritative.
I’m going to look for that too, thanks!
