This morning I took a picture of a radish I have growing in a jar of water. The poor thing sprouted in the vegetable bin and I took pity on it. When it will grow a radish is anyone’s guess. I was going to use the picture as my spring flower blog post but it was too depressing (^^)
Yes, I have a lemon tree, at last, for I’ve wanted one for our solarium for years. Last fall I came across some at a very special permaculture farm near Victoria when we went there with our daughter’s family for a little tour and to browse their plant sale.
I think it’s delightful that you are giving that little radish a try! I keep trying to start a ginger plant whenever I see the root putting out a green shoot but I’ve had no luck yet.
How absolutely glorious to have grown your own lemons. I can just imagine the lovely smell! We had a deliciously sharp lemon sauce with our pancakes yesterday – how I love that fresh zest.
The Meyers have such a rich scent and I look forward to eating them but for now I’m enjoying looking at them! I remember a trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles one February many years ago and seeing lemon and grapefruit trees full of ready to pick fruit. Some friends with Meyer trees in their garden gave us a large basketful which is when I fell in love with this variety.
Two lovely pictures with which to begin; the bowl of three lemons and the vase of three times three blooms. The third picture in which they are combined is far more than the sum of the first two pictures. Something tells me there is a question worth pursuing there.
Tom, how interesting that you look at those numbers of threes! What is the question? and what is the answer? I know that has been in your thoughts lately.
(Not wishing to deflate your wonderful observations, but there are actually ten tulips, with one hidden in the photos.)
You have a lemon tree? How wonderful.

Your yellow blooms and lemons are a treat to see.
