a heart
Happy Friendship Day! Happy Valentine’s Day!
No, there is no snow here. All is green – green moss on rocks and lawns, evergreen trees, spikes of green spring flowering bulbs poking through the soil, some with white blossoms (snowdrops). No signs of heart’s red in the garden yet.

Marja-Leena!
Ei ole paljon lunta Vaasassakaan. Happy Valentine-day for you! We have temperature bumping on plus/minus 0 C. Windy, wet trees. Tree trunks glistening in thick fog. Lidia-cat slept in my lap as I watched Jane Campion’s Bright Star (Britannia 2009), great love story in the short life of John Keats.
So, my dear friend, dig some poems of John Keats, and have a fine day!
Ripsa, kiitos! Your temperatures sound not so bad for mid February. It is 11C and raining here right now.
Thanks for the mention of that film. I found it in our library and reserved it. I loved Campion’s The Piano. Keats was a favourite poet of mine in school days, along with Tennyson and others.
Hyvää Ystävänpäivää Sinulle!
Ripsa, we watched ‘Bright Star’ this evening! It is beautiful and very moving. Now I must find my book of Keats poetry !
A richly elegant image indeed. I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day.
Our snow has been and gone again after more rain. It’s been
an interesting winter.
Susan, thank you! It was a quiet day as we’d celebrated it with my birthday. I’m glad to hear the latest snowstorm did not come your way. We have a powerful windstorm warning for tonight. We aren’t on the exposed coastline where it will be the worst but we’ll see how it will be. It’s been a few years since we had bad ones in our area.
More snow fell under a plump moon last night. The old Buick is once again covered and shivering out back. I will “Prost” you with a chocolate stout tonight in honour of the day, dear Marja-Leena!
Rouchswalwe, thanks for the “Prost”. I saw that gorgeous plump moon last night, so brilliant that I thought the lights were on indoors.
I hope that was the last snowstorm for the winter!
I fear I have nothing worthwhile to add, but was captivated by Rouchswalwe’s description of ‘a plump moon’. Quite delightful.
Tom, I will now remember R’s ‘plump moon’ everytime I see one! Thanks for dropping by.
First struck by the play of light and dark, became stripes, then bars…prisoner of love? Sweet for your birthday/Valentine.
Feeling past the holiday–except for grandchildren–my blog has an unromantic, goofy take on it .
Naomi, prisoner of love – an interesting interpretation! I bet your grandchildren loved your goofy and original gift.
Plenty here! Want some? I have been hunkered down with a bear of a cold… Stay well and warm!
Oh dear, Marly, so much snow and now a cold?! Do take care. You folks in the east have had a hard winter.
The storm which was forcecast for our coastal region Saturday hardly touched us but the second one on Sunday hit us with high winds and heavy rains. I was a little worried that the our huge trees might break and knock out power lines. No damage, no outages here but definitely in more open areas by the sea. No snow, just a swamp in the back yard. The ski hills are worried this might be the way of the future.
