happy winterfest
Happy Christmas, Hauskaa Joulua, Frohe Weihnachten, Joyeux Noël, God Jul or Blessed Midwinter!
Wishing all of you a joyful holiday, full of cheer with those who are dear, as well as some quiet moments for gratitude and peace.
Many thanks as always for visiting and reading and for the many friendships this blogging has blessed me with.
Many of you are having a beautiful white Christmas this year while ours is the normal green. So I’ve been satisfying some of my snow envy by looking at my photos of last winter when we had a record amount for many weeks. Check out for example this night shot and the countdown to Christmas a year ago which includes the photo that was used for this year’s card, both printed and e-versions. Cheers!

Happy Holidays to you and your family. May the food be plenty and the conversation enriching.
Happy Christmas M-L! And many blessings for 2010…
Hyvää ja onnellista joulua Sinulle ja perheellesi!
Merry Christmas Marja! have a good one
Another year! Have a great holiday with your family – so good to have a moment that brings everyone together. Look forward to next years posts as always!Linden
Thank you, all! Tomorrow evening is the big night here! I finished the gift wrapping and the last baking today and tomorrow have just the table to set and dinner to prepare. Older granddaughter, playing violin and her aunt on piano are practising their songs.
Merry Christmas, Marja-Leena! Yes, our weather has been postcard-perfect so far, but apparently we’re due to get freezing rain starting tomorrow night, so Christmas may be a bit of a wash, weather-wise. Fortunately we have a good generator and plenty of gasoline.
SEASONAL, IF SECULAR, WISH-LIST FOR MY TOLERANT BLOG-AMIS
Straight-driven woodscrews. Racondite allusions. Continuous power. Unbroken broadband. Cat-poo-less borders. Boggle-free bearnaise. Self-cleaning sables. Myth-riddled churches. Fly silent mornings. Ale from the cask and brewing adjacent. Wall-to-wall Cosi. Unending Brendel. Clarified Proust. An index for Yoolie. Masterpiece photos.Perfume from mangroves. Machine shining steel. A high-revving two-stroke. Murdoch-free broadcasts. Snowy crunch footprints. Fat taste from Meursault. Snow-covered Prague… well, you get the idea. I pray you are supported by technology in 2010
Dave, thank you! I hope the weatherman will be wrong. Hope some snow stays so you’ll still have a white Christmas. Stay warm and have a good Christmas, all of you on your mountain!
BB, an amazing list, not just technology and I recognize some of the intended recipients! Thank you.
What a beauty of a photo!
A joyful Christmas to you ML, and many thanks for continued friendship. Much love.
Merry Christmas Marja-Leena to you and Fred and your family. I know that those icicles are not of this year, but I do like the way they look like walrus tusks.
Happy Holidays. I loved the card.
Lucy, Joe and Hattie, many thanks to each of you! Just taking a quick break here before I start cooking! The grandkids are getting excited…
Merry Christmas, Marja-Leena! I love your card! Have a wonderful day tomorrow.
Beth, thank you! We’ve had a wonderful Christmas eve in the Finnish and German tradition with dinner, music and Santa’s visit. Tomorrow we’ll relax, then do it all over again in a few days when our eldest daughter and partner join us. Hope your day is wonderful for both you and J!
