What a lovely photo. I do like the shape of the milkweed pod.
This is another especially lovely choice of a natural object for your ‘Hands series’. It’s been a long time since I handled a milkweed pod but I remember them being marvelously smooth inside and the hairs that carry the seeds as silky soft. Isn’t it amazing how elegantly simple is its form?
Very nice!
Dolores, thanks, it is indeed a lovely shape.
Susan, it is a price possession of mine, a gift from a friend actually.
Dave, thanks! Great to have you visit.
I love the pretty curve of the stem.
Hattie, I like it too.
The stem somehow captures my attention on this one. And I have a memory of last summer? Or was it two summers ago, as I was walking in a park and happened upon an entire milkweed family hunkered down on this plant.
Rouchswalwe, what a lovely memory, thanks for sharing!
The series is developing beautifully. It seems to have great potential as you think of more curious things to hold in the palm of your hand or even perhaps between finger and thumb.
Joe, thanks so much! I’m just about ready to print the ninth in the series, and am starting work on the tenth which will be the last in this format. I have ideas for more, another variation on the theme, if you will.
What a sweet little cradle! All precious and golden and delicate, so easily crushed. And I, too, like the little umbilical curl of the stem.
Marly, you do find the most interesting things to say! I love the idea of a cradle and umbilical cord – just love it – thanks!
