frosty
The other morning frost covered trees, shrubs, grass, even the glass on the skylights. Though not lovely frost ferns this time, its thawing looks like lace.
Outdoors I’m looking very closely at the frost on the deck railing.
and how it is thawing on the sunnier end….
Oh, I almost forgot Finland’s Independence Day today! Here’s the perfect music to honour it. Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää!

Great shots! Love the crystals in the second shot – my camera could never get that! No frost here yet, but it’s feeling frosty with wind chills tonight of around 15 degrees F (-9C).
So beautiful! and speaking of beautiful, what do you know, my Finnish friend came to work wearing her very lovely Kalevala necklace yesterday.
I’ve always loved Finlandia. That’s about the best national anthem in the world.
No frost here, but we get a chilly breeze now and then.
Leslee, my smaller camera can’t do it either. I use a macro extension on my larger SLR camera. It’s now warmed up a lot here to 9C with rain, with more all week including a heavy rainfall warning!
Jean, your friend found a style of Kalevala Koru that she likes, then. Did you like it too?
Hattie, it is a great piece, though not Finland’s national anthem. It is actually Maamme
Now that’s what I call taking a close look 🙂
Happy Independence day to Finland and all Finlandiers!
Susan, that’s right! And thanks for the wishes and the humorous link – I’ve seen it or something like it before and it always make me chuckle.
i love the structures of the ice! things have been intensely frosty over here too. url.appleturnover.tv/frost x
Hi Elisa, thanks. You are still in winter while we’re now having a warm spell and monsoons, a kind of Pineapple Express, and it’s so dark!
Oh, these are SO beautiful!!
Thanks, Beth!
