fog and sun

In a very wet month,
a rare moment of brilliant light
mirrored in water
softened by fog

Hmm, still trying to figure out why there are two suns…
Leslee, the sun is reflected off the water, obscured by fog. I love the mystery of the double suns.
There are moments of grace. I’m glad you caught this one on film.
Susan, I’m glad too for it was an amazing scene to walk into in the morning. Made my day.
Yes, but where’s the water? I can’t tell what I’m looking at. Is that all sky or is there a water line or is it bouncing up off the fence or…?
Leslee, have a look at these photos taken one December day from almost the same spot, but with less fog. The second photo shows how the rising sun, though much lower so late in the year, is mirrored on the water. Sorry the link to the Nov.19th, 2008 one didn’t help, so hope this one does. Better yet, come visit!
Oh, now I see the water line! I thought it was all sky from the railing up. 🙂
What a marvelous image! Like Leslee I thought it was all sky at first, so it was wonderful to have a look at your Nov 19th post and also be able to see what the fog was hiding. How reality must have seemed to bend and bow a little for you, seeing that first thing in the morning!
Jodi, yes, I love this kind of morning greeting when I walk into the kitchen, a punctuation of brightness in the midst of a season of endless rain.
