cool and drizzly after hot and dry days and nights
soft leaf on hard angular body and sharp spines
dark against light,
a hint of coming change of seasons

We’ve had some quick shifts in weather here, too. After a mostly hot and humid summer, it suddenly turned cool the last couple of weekends, almost fall-like at night. At least it’s been mostly sunny, though I think we could use some rain. Such a small range of preferable weather!
Leslee, oh yes, I’m notoriously picky about the perfect temperature range, even how much rain! It got very cool yesterday, a bit of a shock at first though I normally like it.
I love the picture and the poem. I have been occupied recently with grandchildren and business of various kinds and thus absent from the net. Have looked at your recent posts and, as usual, am blown away at the beauty of your photographs. I hope to get to Vancouver soon to see you.
Anne, thanks. I’m still busy with family too but come September things are going to be awfully quiet here. I look forward to seeing you!
GREEN close-up, could be so many things. Appreciate the way your images often remind me to take a smaller, closer frame.
Naomi, I’m glad this makes you feel that way!
