Lovely! I love those colors. Is there texture to this? It looks like it.
Love the texture of it, especially the blue. Looks like it came from a rock.
I like the sideways “A” at the top. (Is the silent message “Anarchy Now!”? 🙂
Thanks leslee and Cathy – The collagraph (the blue print) is heavily textured, and that is what I love about the medium. It does remind me of a rock, which is probably why I may have instinctively felt it went well with the petroglyph image.
Dave, I love the sideways A too – it seems a unique way to portray a head, and conveys aggressiveness to me. You see that too, eh? Wonder what the stone age man’s words would have been for “Anarchy Now” – “Kill”? Or are we misinterpreting from a thousand-years-later culture?
Maybe your imaginary petroglyphic artist was meditating on power and the beginning and ending of things.
Not just an A. There’s an O. Can’t put A and O together without getting Alpha and Omega.
my – Yes, there’s an O, too, though a bit elongated like an egg. Fascinating thoughts on the Alpha and Omega, power and beginnings and endings. You may be interested to know that this image was done by a real petroglyph artist living in the Karelia region (east of Finland in Russia), 4 to 6 thousand years ago.
