   This is an interesting idea. I’m afraid, however, that I don’t find it ‘there’ enough for me. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been thinking of the drain covers as separate items, or whether a narrower range of colours would work better to my eye, … but for me they don’t feel as if they really belong. You have a piece in your slide show: ARKEO #3 where similar elements fit the fundamentals of the design, and could not be removed without the design’s disintegration. I find that to be a powerful statement.
   Generally I have belonged to the school of behaviour which says that if one does not have anything good to say, one should say nothing. However, I am beginning to believe that that perhaps is hypocritical. We all have our peculiar points of view, and in any case a piece of work need only satisfy the maker to be good.

   Olga, I appreciate your observations! I can feel ambivalent about some of my own works at times, sometimes liking them, sometimes not, often changing my mind over time. For a long time I hesitated posting this because the photo really does not do the piece justice at all. I know this medium is a challenge at the best of times, but this piece looks quite weak here when it’s compressed for the web, though it may be my own inexpertise. Yet, being part of a series, I felt it had to take its place there with the others. More to come as I slowly catch up…
