angle of the light
about 1:00 pm. December 7th – the sun’s rays are low even near high noon
about 3:00 pm., long low rays of weak sunshine reach in far
create delicate shadows of paper snowflakes onto wall and artwork
reminding us that we are nearing the winter solstice

Always interesting to see the very, very subtle coloration and variation that compels you in things and shadows! And how many more shades there are in such things than we normally notice…
Marly, always interesting and very observant what you notice about my images, thank you!
Just looking at what you show me!
I miss that slanted light and long shadows.
Hattie, it really is one of the pleasures of late fall and winter – when the sun shines. Today it has been snowing lightly…
The light is very soft but the clarity of these pictures is lovely.
We’ve just had snow too – the difference here is soon it will come to stay.
Susan, thanks. It has been very cold here for over a week so the frozen ground has kept the snow from melting. In a few days it will be warming up and it will melt away with the rain, sadly. You are lucky to have your snow stay.
