afternoon shadows
late afternoon shadow play
by plants not hands
behind curtains
still hot, mid to high 20s
blessedly cooler nights
hinting autumn

Looks like haiku, here too. I found haiku’s by Kerouac couple of days ago.
Juhani Tikkanen, Tikkis in English blog, is somwhat of an expert writing them and also translating, mainly from English. You find it by googling the name and if you end up in Finnish one, there is a left hand row of different blogs, one of them says Tikkis in English.
It’s been a bit difficult to leave a comment lately. But it could be at this end of the globe as well as over there, the trouble.
oooh perfect 🙂
Shadows make such lovely images. Lovely poem, too. Today it is cooling off, though.
I tried 3 times to comment without success. The 4th time I made it, but the system is difficult to manage.
Marjatta, I saw your post about haiku. I am not a poet and I have no idea how to do haiku, just did this for fun. Some years ago I was doing the same and thought I’d try again. I have looked at Tikkis sometimes too.
Jean, thanks, I thought of you as you do shadows and reflections a lot in your own gorgeous photography.
Anne, thanks so much!
Marjatta and Anne: I am so sorry about commenting problems which I think have to do with my blog – still working on it! I’m almost ready to switch to something else even though I love having no spam.
The veiled plants make very cool images on another warm summer night. I don’t know much about poetic forms either but I did enjoy your nicely woven description of your current setting.
Susan, many thanks, once again!
How lovely!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful family time!
Interesting how you like so much the traces of things–so clear when you love ancient remains but shadows of a thing unseen are a form of momentary traces.
Marianna, thanks, and yes to family time!
Marly, what an interesting and astute observation for I had not thought of these images in that way! That reminds me, two friends and I had an exhibition in Finland 10 years ago called ‘Traces’ .
These are so lovely…and Marly is right about you and traces of things!
Beth, I am so pleased you like them and agree with Marly!
