B-Gallery exhibition photos
As I wrote in the spring along with a poster image, our Art Insitute printmakers group had an exciting exhibition at the B-Gallery in Tokyo. I was lucky during the show to capture one photo from the gallery’s site before it was gone so I’ve been eagerly looking forward to seeing more, as have all the artists who were not there. Today Michiko Suzuki, one of the artists who was there in person, wrote that the exhibition was successful, well attended and well received. She kindly sent many opening and installation photos to share here. Enjoy!
I want to add the artist’s names under their images, and though I know many of them, I’m not sure of all, so shall add that information sometime later when I get to see the catalogue.

Thank you for these photos, they are interesting and enticing. I immediately wanted to look closer – never satisfied! I particularly wanted to see more of the one to the right of the fish, and of course yours which looks so powerful.
Olga, I’m pleased you like these, though I know we’d love to see each of them much closer. I think the one you are attracted to is by Katie Dey.
It does look like a wonderful show. I only wish you could have been there to share your insights and wisdom. Come to think of it, I wish I’d been there too. A trip to Japan has been a dream of ours for many years.
Many congratulations.
Thank you, Susan. I wish I’d been there for I too have often dreamt of visiting that country. We have many Japanese friends in Canada, several of whom are artists. Our eldest daughter has been to Japan twice on student exchange, with one girl from Japan staying with us too.
Oh, you’re getting ahead of me (on the home stretch on the reading project–well, not exactly, but coming down to a first cut) while I am busy. Lovely to see this. Your piece has a lot of boldness and presence in among the others.
I’m wondering how big the gallery is, space being at a premium in Tokyo. Galleries must be a bit more compact, I suppose.
Marly, thanks, I am pleased how my piece looks there. The gallery is small though there is more space than shown in the photos I chose to put here. A couple of other photos that were sent to me showed the opening crowd beyond this space. There were 15 artists and each had one piece in the exhibition so it was well done.
