ten years
Happy 10th Birthday to my dear blog!
You are my artist’s diary, sketchbook, photo album, scrapbook and catch-all of impressions and inspirations.
You have been the medium for making many amazing friends and connections around this globe for which I’m deeply thankful.
Ten years is a short time in a human’s life, but long in this technology. How long will this last, I wonder?

Many congratulations, Marja-Leena. I’m very glad to have been able to share in your marvelous creativity and your gentle, yet perceptive, view.
My blog will be eight this year. I’ve never mentioned an anniversary date, but if it gets to be ten you’ve inspired me to mention it then.
Thanks so much, Susan! I really think you should celebrate each anniversary of your blog! Eight is a good milestone to begin, hmmm? I am so very grateful for having met you.
I am so thankful for your blog. It is one of the constants in my blogging life. Long may it and its lovely author continue to be there.
Tom, merci! Bloggers come and go, so I have been very grateful that you have joined so that we have become friends.

Onneksi olkoon! I’m very happy having found you here in blog-world. It’s so good to be in touch with America, and knowing at the same time that it is a different country, but largely same West Coast where I once was.
And you being a creative person, that goes without saying. And a Finn yet!
Ripsa, kiitos paljon! I feel the same, that through you I have a connection to Finland and to Vaasa.
Many congratulations. And what a pleasing compostion with which to celebrate it. I have always been drawn to your art which has a special sympathetic appeal. Two pf your pictures hang in my house.
Joe, thank you for your kind words! You are another friend whom I have met thanks to blogging, eventually in person as well. That visit in ’09 with you and Heidi is still so very fresh in our minds, and I’m so pleased that you have my work too.
This virtual encounter and exchange is a continuing joy.
Olga, it sure is, thanks to you and all my readers!
Wow, congratulations on 10 years, Marja-Leena! I’m grateful for your continued presence in the blogworld, your dedication to your art and sharing it along with your perspective on this beautiful blog.
Leslee, thank you! I can hardly believe it that I’ve reached this milestone, close on the heels of so many like you who have inspired me!
Fireworks! Champagne for the blog! (And some for the blogger.) So glad you have stayed the course, and wish I had found you even earlier…
Wow, thanks, Marly! Same wish…
I love your blog and am so happy that we have been able to meet a couple of times. Hope to see you in summer. We are planning a road trip and various celebrations!
Hattie, it is thanks to blogs that we have met. Looking forward to seeing you again this summer. I’d love to hear about your upcoming road trip – will it be around BC?
Prost and a big hug! A full decade! Wau! I am trying to remember how I stumbled upon your wonder-filled blog … I only know it’s been part of my blogging regimen forever. That’s what it feels like and I am so happy for you and your blog and will continue to look in. Thank you for your friendship across the miles, liebe Marja-Leena!
Liebe Rouchswalwe, Danke! Thanks so for the good wishes, hug and years of friendship – I’m so glad that you are still here!
More confetti! Yours really is one of the most constant and satisfying of blogs, and you one of the most constant and welcome of readers. I was thinking the other day of how a number of us have been doing this for quite a while now, and seen quite some changes in ourselves and each other, and that many of ys probably will continue now, if only, and it isn’t only, for the contacts and friendships made.
So congratulations, and please do stick around!
Lucy, thank you! Friendships are the certainly the reward and a big part of staying with it. I don’t post as often even when I have the ideas but am lazy about putting in the work, yet this blog really is a part of my life.
Marja-Leena! Our blogs are practically twins — fraternal ones, I admit — and both are beating the odds suggested by the infant blog mortality rate. Congratulations on maintaining a beautiful, gentle, and hospitable residence here against such a vast territory of years.
Peter, yes, isn’t that amazing? I met so many wonderful blogs when I started out – some have since gone and some of us are still here, thankfully. Thanks for your kind words and for visiting!
