sunbeam and shadow
a long low late afternoon sunbeam
shines a spotlight on some dried flowers
and casts an intricate shadow on the wall
a surprise in an ordinary day

So beautuful, have a nice weekend, Marja-Leena!
Interesting how real the shadow seems. As though it is a branch growing independently on the other side of a roof. There is much to be said for such ambiguities.
It looks like a fantasy landscape. I just added a little girl and a unicorn picking their way down a steep slope.
Leena, thanks. I’m enjoying this weekend as it is brilliantly sunny though frosty at night. Last week was miserably cold and wet and we even had snow though it didn’t stay long at sea level.
Joe, yes, the shadow intrigued me the most and certainly leaves it open for the imagination.
Susan, I can clearly see your little girl and unicorn there!
Ah but it’s a tree, a maple I think…
And another coincidence, I’ve been seeing red everywhere I look lately
PS ARE there such things as ordinary days?
The older I get the fewer I seem to have, which is wonderful, isn’t it?
Wishing you an extraordinary day
Julie, you are right, they are no ordinary days when one spots unexpected delights in unexpected places. Hope you had an extraordinary weekend!
