Is that first one a macro? Somehow I can’t figure out how big it is…
I’m not a bit surprised you loved the second image. Dank with wet, that design looks ancient–and such a primal design.
Marly, it’s not a macro, just a closely cropped image of a broken step, about the length of a tall adult’s shoe. The second image is my favourite, for the pattern of pavers looks so different when accented with the white snow. I like that you think it looks primal, must have been why I was attracted to it.
All three are wonderful. In the first, I see a cat sitting. Here it’s very windy and the little bit of snow that is falling isn’t sticking at all.
R, a sitting cat? hmmm… The rains have washed away that bit of snow we had yesterday morning, but there’s been about a metre of new snow on the mountains this past week. The skiers and snowshoers (is that a word?) are happy.
The soft bits of snow define the hard forms very sweetly. As far as I’m concerned winning the snow lottery is getting just this much.
Did you ever hear Mae West’s quip about snow?
‘I used to be Snow White but I drifted.’
Susan, that’s a great Mae West quip – had me laughing out loud, thanks. Do you keep a book of jokes handy or is your memory that good? I can never remember any. And oh yes, just a little snow that is pretty but needs no shoveling is the best kind.
Many I recall and some are written down. Mae West and the Marx Brothers are old favorites for good quotes.
As Groucho said: Those are my principles, and if you don’t like them… well, I have others.
Susan, how clever of you. Mae West is quite the character, and so are the Marx brothers – I remember that quote. Do you know any of Charlie Chaplin’s?
