signs
signs of bursting
delicate green buds on bushes
native flowering currants and skunk cabbage
early snowdrops and croci finishing
now hyacinths, daffodils, forsythia
spring has sprung
Addendum March 17th, 2008: I’ve been short on words so I think you may enjoy reading lichen, a beautiful post and photo by my daughter Erika. She lovingly describes last week’s walk together in our favourite park where we took our photos.

Oh yay! It’s spring somewhere!! 🙂
The second one is really luminous.
Is there ever a sight so dear? I saw the first crocus yesterday in our garden. A perfect, splendid sight!
Thanks Leslee and Loretta! I know what an exceptionally snowy and long winter folks in eastern US and Canada have been/are still having. Here we get a lot of rain, but spring does come earlier, a long slow season, my favourite.
Lucy, thanks, your spring in Brittany has been way ahead of our late one this year. It’s fun to compare, don’t you think?
Green flames!
Joe, yes, they do look like flames – what a powerful symbol, thank you!
