rocks, more rocks
A favourite subject – aren’t these beauties in that light? How many photos of rocks have I published in the eleven years of this blog, I ask myself?

Not only wondrous rocks, but beautiful in their immediate fascinating surroundings. Fab! – as we used to say so long ago.
Yes, indeed! It’s all great material for photography… and for the blog 🙂
The rocks form clearly shapes like a larger archipelago looked down from the window. Some years back I flew to Stockholm and saw landscapes very much like your photos, glistening in sun, as it was summer.
But then have to remember that nature varies same shapes in different forms and measures, endlessly.
Isn’t it interesting how the sense of scale can be uncertain when viewing these images? As you say, they could be great archipelagoes, or in this case moderate sized rocks sitting in the sand on a beach. Nature is so fascinating, we both agree!
Such beautiful colours and wonderful texture all revealing a tiny subtle-hued world – delicious!
Thank you for your kind words and visit!
It’s quite easy to see your rocks as islands seen from above. There’s
a great and wondrous clarity in the shapes and subtle coloring.
I am delighted that you see all this and share my feelings for this setting. Thanks, Susan!
Love these. Beachwalking and beachcombing are so much fun, aren’t they.
Yes, I love it, especially on these wilder beaches on the westcoast! The city ones are not as exciting.
Thank you for showing us where Fairies make their home.
Ellena, yes, they are indeed around these magical rocks! I wish I could have caught one to bring home to some of the rocks in my garden, but then it would have missed its companions on the beach.
Love the sense of miniature worlds, tucked in the midst of ours.
I don’t think beach fairies live very long… At least the Twilmish don’t! http://podcastle.org/2009/03/25/podcastle-45-the-annals-of-eelin-ok/
Ooh, what a great site – thanks for the link! Isn’t dusk a magical time for all kinds of magical creatures?!
