mushrooms in grass
Abundance in our backyard. Are they edible?
Working hard in the studio, no energy left for words.

Hi Rog! You must be inspired by all the other poets chiming in on the last posts. This is great, with a touch of the somber.
soft brown lush mushrooms
sprouting in families on
the last turf of green
Olivia – very nice, thank you.
We get them like this; I’ve got some knowledge of mushrooms but I don’t know if these are edible. There are bold mushroom gatherers and old mushroom gatherers, the saying goes!
Anyway, they are too wet and far gone to eat even if they were comestibles…
Nice pics though!
Lucy, thanks. We had the first big invasion of these in our garden and yard two or three years ago, and I tried to identify them without luck. Anyway, they’ve now deteriorated into a soggy mess here as well.
