These are so wonderfully developed, I’m beginning to get my eye in to your work now. Each seems to have a potential story (is that naive of me, finding narrative in visual work?)
For example, VI Primo makes me think of the three sad Bronte sisters and Haworth Church.
Thank you! I believe every viewer is going to have a unique response and there’s nothing wrong with that, associations arise, and I find them often fascinating like yours!
If you really want to know, the four figures are general representations of figures in archways, and the wall is from a photograph I took of a bricked-in doorway in a wall by an Etruscan castle on the west coast of Italy. As for the meaning, I usually like to leave things a bit mysterious for the above reason -you might get a sense of it in the artist statement.
