happy lunar new year
No, I don’t suppose this flower is special to this particular event, celebrated widely by many Asian countries and their immigrant communities such as here in Vancouver. This single blossom was part of a larger stem of orchid blossoms on a plant that is blooming in my solarium, and fell off when I was straightening the stem. I had the urge to digitally immortalize it. I’m grateful for some colour and lovely scent on this dull rainy day – enjoy!

Happy Year of the Rabbit!
R, which ale will you open to toast to The Rabbit?
Hmm, something from the Far East would be appropriate … Sapporo Black! That would do nicely!
That’s a magnificent orchid and I’m still dazzled that you can scan living things so beautifully.
Happy Bunny Year 🙂
R, ooh, sounds good. Do you make that one too?
Susan, thanks, I enjoy scanning, one can get such very high resolutions compared to digital cameras, though of course it’s still only 72 on the screen. Yay to Bunnies!
That is a pretty orchid that I have never seen here. My orchids are dormant right now. I’m waiting a week or two to fertilize them.
Hattie, somewhere deep in the archives is a photo of the whole plant in bloom but I can’t find it. It’s a cold tolerant variety that doesn’t mind the unheated solarium, Hawaii is probably too warm for it.
