Just a photo today, a lovely little detail on a dockside railing, at Alert Bay of course.
Hope to get back to the rest of the island hopping saga tomorrow.
Have you guessed that I’m trying to do a post a day for NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month? It’s helping me get back to regular posting but I don’t know if I can keep this up!

I’ve noticed your posts have been coming fast and furious but I didn’t know why. Good luck with the plan and how lucky you’ve got such a fine selection of photographs. This one is lovely.
Susan, dear Susan, you are usually the first commenter and here every time. Thanks for that and for your always kind words, much appreciated! I do have lots of photos to share, which I find easier than writing long posts, so let’s see how it goes 🙂
I always enjoy coming over to your place here. The more you post, the better I like it.
Hattie, thanks, glad to have you visit. With the blog problems I had some months ago, I lost some of that drive so I’m making up for that. And sometimes there is too much to post like now with catching up with the trip notes before they are forgotten.
Hurrah for Lichen! I’m so glad I’m back in the swing especially since you’re posting more often this month. Lately I think it would be enough to work 4 days a week (only 6 hours a day) and have long weekends to take trips. And I mean everybody. A friend told me today that this year, most of the shops will remain open on Thanksgiving Day here in the States. I am apalled. And I’m still holding out hope that she misunderstood something.
Rouchswalwe, I’m the lucky recipient of so many delightful comments at once from you, thank you! Oh I agree about working less. Americans tend to work more hours with less holidays and benefits than most European countries, and sometimes even Canada. It’s ridiculous that stores stay open almost 365 days in a year, even here – and do those workers get holiday pay?
The larger stores usually have a policy of paying time-and-a-half on holidays, but who knows about the smaller shops. It’s so sad that workers who would rather have the time off are normally not even given a choice.
