invitation
Here’s the exhibition invitation I designed with some great help by daughter Erika and her skills with type design. It has gone to the printers a few days ago, so here’s hoping it turns out well!
The details:
Silent Messengers: mixed media prints
Opening: November 16th, 4:30 – 8:00p.m.
Studio Art Gallery, Capilano College
2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver
The exhibition is on from November 16th to December 7th, 2005
Gallery hours: 10am – 4pm Monday – Friday
(or by appointment – email me)
I’ll post this again closer to the opening date along with a map. Mark your calendars. Everyone welcome!

Hi Marja-Leena,
Your invitation looks lovely! I am partial to the seductive black and white – and it beautifully sums up your work I think (from the little I have seen). I hope it goes well for you and wish I was a little closer so that I could see it in real time!
Best of luck for you exhibition!
Linden
I wish I was there to see your exhibition.
Hi Marja…nice work. Wish I could make the openeing but I’ll be in Nanaimo. Might catch the show later though…
Thanks Linden, the invitation is b&w because that’s what the college printer does. I adapted a colour image for this and I’m rather pleased with it myself, if I do say so… Wish you could be here too!
Anna, it would be wonderful if you could be here!
Chris, what a surprise to have you visit here! Send me an email when you can come, perhaps we can meet there!
And that invitation is for anyone and everyone!!
Looks beautiful, Marja-Leena! I like the black-and-white and the overall elegance of the invitation. How I wish I could attend!
Oh, how nice! I love the invitation. Too bad it is so far away. Best wishes for your opening and exhibition. Do tell us how it goes!
Thanks Beth and leslee, it sure would be fun to meet you at my opening, but you are too far way, sigh! Of course I’ll write about it and hopefully post some photos.
Smashing job, Marja-Leena. I like the balance of text to image, it really engages the eye. I wonder if the British Council would like a volunteer from the UK to come out and do the honours. I’m their woman. I’ll check.
Anna, I think you’d be highly qualified as a representative from the UK, with your appreciative eye for fine art! I’ll reserve the guest bed.
Terrific! Looking forward to coming to the opening! Just a stone’s throw from here….
Linda, looking forward to meeting you and your husband!
Hi Marja Leena,
That was a great invitation! I loved it. Congrats to your daughter Erika for her design. All the best!! With love from India

Thank you, Ismail for the good words and for visiting!
