hand with kelp
the artist’s hand with kelp
Another from the small series of scans of my hand with various objects which were originally created for qarrtsiluni’s worship issue.
Here are the others I’ve posted should you have missed them, with more to come later:

That’s a beauty. It almost looks like a particularly airy sponge rather than kelp – which I always thought was the kind of long, broad, slimy green stuff with bubbly brown extrusions you’ll often find on the shore after a storm. That wasn’t a very good description, was it?
Like a bit of wrought gold…
Susan, years ago I had scanned this little piece and written about it but did not know what it was. One of the commenters, Jackie, identified it as “the roots of bull kelp”. It was quite dry when I picked it on a westcoast beach a long time ago. It is a little bit fragile but so very intriguing. Your description sure fits the wet and living bull kelp!
Nämä skannatut käsikuvat ovat todella kauniita ja puhuttelevia.
Marly! why, yes, it does kind of look like that, thanks!
Taina, kiitos, tästä tulikin mieluinen sarja. Ajattelen nyt printtausta vaikka se ei ollut alkuun ollenkaan mielessä. Mukava miten nämä ideat kasvaa…
Well, you have pointed out by using it that it is precious…
