Gabriola’s petroglyphs
a Gabriola Island petroglyph
I have more photos plus notes to share on the petroglyphs we saw on Gabriola Island, along with many more rock photos…. when I have some time.
I’ve been quiet on this blog for we have good friends visiting this week, former Vancouverites who will soon be moving back here after over two decades living in other Canadian cities. We are very pleased since many other friends have moved away over the years. Then next week our middle daughter and her two daughters will arrive from the UK for a two month visit. Busy but happy times….

Thank you for sharing this, it is wonderful. Your photo’s never cease to amaze me..
Have fun with your daughter and grandaughters, you will be ‘happy exhausted’ for the next few weeks, enjoy every moment.. ~ Julie
Like that one and look forward to more but be selfish and keep all that sweet visiting and family time to yourself!
That is a very moving photo, beautiful.
Julie and Marly, glad you like the photo, it happened to show the best of them all because of the wetness and angle of light. And thanks, we will enjoy our ‘girls’ for it’s been 10 months since we’ve seen them.
Zhoen, thank you.
Oh, the moist light adds that special something to the photo. Wow! Have a good time with friends and family! It is so important to share times together when one can.
I’m delighted to know that sometimes friends return 🙂 I hope you have a marvelous time when your daughter and grandchildren come to visit.
The petroglyph is indeed beautifully captured.
Oh, and don’t feel that you have to come visit us out in the world! Just rejoice in having them for a while!
Rouchswalwe, thanks! We had a great time renewing an old friendship. The left us today and I’ve been taking advantage of a lovely day to do some gardening. In a few days the family will be here!
Susan, thanks for the good wishes, I’m sure we will!
Marly, I still look around at a few blogs when I take a break now and then, so I shall not be totally out of touch.
I love the way the water collects in and shines from the grooves.
Enjoy your visitors!
