the Dollar Mill
Revisiting the old Dollar Mill on a recent sunny Sunday afternoon.
Recalling how this place inspired a few prints some years ago.
Wishing I’d had my better camera with me.

I find this photo inspiring. There are so many interesting graphic elements in it. I find the layers of light as well as the structural layers have potential for further work as well as being seductively attractive in themselves.
I have often found that a quick snap of a subject which captures the eye and the imagination can turn out to hold that feeling better than a perhaps more intellectually considered good photograph. But maybe that’s because I’m a snapper not a photographer!
In Dollarton, I wonder? That’s the area of the Malcolm Lowry Walk.
Olga, thank you for your insightful observations! This image attracted me for its painterly feel as well. If I wanted to use it in my work though, I’d need a better resolution but I’m not sure I’ll find the same light conditions again. I’m still such an amateur!
Yes, Peter, it’s fairly close, within the same park. I seem to recall you quoting Lowry in a comment in another post, and I mentioned the Walk.
