December 2nd
A gorgeous sunrise to welcome a cold and clear day
Clouds gather to cover an ominously beautiful sunset
Freezing temperatures coming, maybe some snow
I move more pots of tender plants closer to the house
I say goodbye to November, with a little self-congratulatory pat on the back for completing the NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month challenge to write a blog post daily. This was only the second time I have done this, the first was in 2010. Now onwards with printing cards and writing letters!

Those truly are gorgeous sunset pictures. I hope December is as fruitful for you as November has been for us. Once again, congratulations on completing the challenge.
Thanks, Susan – the photos really don’t do justice to the real thing. And again for the congrats too.
Marja-Leena: now we have the Independence Day Friday and then it’s just down toward the Christmas, and yes, with storms and red storm clouds here too!
It gives me a cozy feeling thinking of you making Christmas cards and letters. That’s the right spirit!
Ripsa, I thought we might have snow laden clouds this morning, instead it is very clear and beautiful. Maybe snow at the end of the week. That would put me in the Christmas mood for I am slow at the starting line of that countdown. Youngest daughter put up her paper snowflakes on Sunday – maybe as a charm for some real snowflakes!
Gorgeous photos. I left the freezing temps of the Caribou region on Tuesday for mild weather at home in TO. High of 15 today but the cold is coming tomorrow.
I need to get the house in order for the holiday season.
Thanks, Dolores. My, that sounds warm for Toronto – have our climates switched? Though mostly sunny, the ground has been frozen here for a few days and there is a stong chance of snow ahead. We just got our outside lights up and bought a tree, so that’s a start. Have fun getting ready for the holidays – you’ve certainly gotten the gifts sewn up!
Even in Hawaii, we are readying ourselves for winter storms. We have had some spectacular sunrises and sunsets here, too. And it is a little cooler, frankly a relief after an unusually long spell of warm temperatures and high humidity.
Hattie, it is the time of year that weather can sometimes get wild. We just spoke with our daughter in Victoria (BC) and they had some snow this morning – the granddaughters are excited, but also worried about Daddy getting home safely from London day after tomorrow. Elsewhere in the province and east of us in Alberta, they have had bitter cold and snowstorms for some time. Is this the year we will get hit hard, like back in ’08 and ’09?
Splendiferous sunsets!
We warmed up a bit and had rainrainrain today–washed away a great deal of the snow. If it hadn’t gotten warmer, we would be shoveling now.
Marly, are you happy that the snow got washed away? I always have mixed feelings about that when we get it. I don’t like the wet mess after.
Oh, we now have heaps more snow… but it is supposed to rain in a day or so. Not happy because I have to fetch a child, and rain on snow equals ground clouds!
Marly, ‘ground clouds’ – I have to remember that phrase next time we get rain on snow!
