buds of spring
More wonderful signs of spring during the warmest winter in 114 years here in the Vancouver area…
Two of the the first-to-green-out native shrubs in the park, the red huckleberry and oemleria or Indian plum (I think)…
And one of many mini-daffodils coming into bloom in my garden…
These images are much larger than real life, for as you can see, I’m still enjoying macro photography…
You may all be getting bored with too many flower photos…

I love flower photos and can’t see too many. But such an early spring bothers me. It’s earlier than in San Francisco!
Our weather has been a trifle warmer than usual. It’s an El Nino year, which means drought for the parts of the island that do not get much rain.
Marja-Leena, your flower photos are giving me hope. Here all is mounds of snow piled up up up. This morning on the way to work, I felt as though I and the car were slipping through a winding snowscape in a Tim Burton movie. Eerie. And there’s more snow on the way!
Hattie, we’ve had early springs before, but this seems a touch earlier yet. I hope we don’t end up with a cold wet summer or something.
R, amazing how much snow you are having this winter! Hope spring comes soon for you.
the warmest winter? This explains a lot…you have been syphoning off Briittany’s heat somehow. Keep the flowers coming. They are cheering.
Rosie, it really is quite an odd world-wide pattern reversal that’s happening this winter…
