a change
As regular readers know, we are still adjusting and fine tuning aspects of this new blog redesign. The latest thing, which I have reluctantly agreed to because of the spam volumes, is that now commenters will need to register. I hope it won’t be too difficult for anyone (took me a bit to figure out**), but once it is done, you will not need to do it again. Hopefully this will work better for me and block the unfriendly visitors but not the friendly ones, including yours truly who kept being sent to the spam bin! Please let me know if you have any problems.
This gave me the perfect excuse to put up another drawing, this one a loner amongst the human figures and faces. A change of scenery if you will.
I must add my thanks again and always to both my son-in-law J for all the hours of work he does on the technical side behind the blog, and has done from the day he started me blogging, and to daughter Elisa for this beautiful redesign. Both have busy careers, so I am grateful they take such good care of mom’s blog!
** A tip for those having trouble registering, do go to “Not a member? Sign Up!”. That’s what I missed initially, such a dodo with online forms.

Marja-Leena!
My first trying to sign in also went to the waste basket. It was interesting, though, as I tried to sign in as a blogger, then the blogger announced that it is too complicated! And I am here writing a comment to a blog…
But that is quite a califlower (sp.?). Which reminds me that IF I go to an exhibition opening tonight, I have to go to store early, becuase I have to get food for Sunday also, as it is a Mother’s day.
Who needs mother’s day, is my question of today? My suggestion is that the different businesses…
Phew! I’m through!
I’ve always found cauliflowers so wonderfully sculptural as well as delicious. I love them in salads.
It is interesting watching you ‘filing’ your drawings. It’s something we should do for ourselves and our earlier work from time to time. It is also just like looking through others’ sketchbooks.
I am enjoying revisiting earlier drawings of my own for printmaking exercises.
Hey, sixth time lucky, or thereabouts! The form put my e-mail where my user name should’ve been, it weren’t me…
Lovely cauliflower, bring on the cheese!
Thanks to Lucy who mentioned the email address replacing my user name I’ve been able to register without difficulty. Excellent.
Your cauliflower has a lot more personality than certain politicians I could name.
Now my turn to comment in this new box. I’m sorry you all have had troubles registering but it should be easy now on in. I am grateful that you are still here, my friends!
Marjatta, you are now using your real name, instead of Ripsa! So my cauliflower is reminding you to go shop, heh. Happy Mother’s Day. Our youngest daughter was born on Mother’s Day though this year it does not fall on that. So tomorrow a birthday, then Sunday is for mothers.
Back later, Marjatta – I was doing my grocery shopping this morning, and picking out a cauliflower amongst other things, and it made me think of this drawing and post and our conversation! Funny how that works, as if in real life.
Olga, I love cauliflower also roasted and as mashed ‘potatoes’. I’m glad you are finding the drawings interesting, and I like that you call it a kind of ‘filing’. I’m still immersed in going through them. I’d forgotten how many I’ve kept, and surprised how few I am throwing away, I suppose I must have already done that long ago before we moved to this house. I am thinking of possibly cutting up a few for their most interesting sections, such as hands, feet….
Lucy, glad you made it. Cheese… oh, must go have breakfast now!
Susan, thanks for the best joke (yet serious, as the best are) to start my day!
Lovely naked cauliflower for a change from naked people!
Marly, heh, now I need not fear the word ‘naked’ in case those spammers are trolling around for that. Dare I put up drawings showing a little more frontal nudity? It’s a crazy world out there, might be safer to stick with vegetables.
Looks like I’m “in” — hooray! I love the cauliflower drawing, as much for the grace of your lines as for the sensitive treatment of a mundane subject! It has a silverpoint quality to it.
Mmmm, one in the waste bin. Let’s try again!
Beth, so glad you made it! Interesting observation about a silverpoint quality – thanks.
Clive, you made it too, I’m so happy. So far it seems that registration has been a bit of a struggle, for which I’m sorry. It should be easy to visit from now on.
Am I in? Did I succeed? Prost!! This round’s on me everybody!!
Cauliflower … yes, I just got a recipe involving tahini. It’s on the docket for this weekend.
No root vegetables involved. Just an onion.
rouchswalwe, you are in, and you have me drooling at the unusual combination of tahini and cauliflower. Will you be sharing it on your blog?
Ja! Will do my best with the dish. I was given a description, not an actual recipe. This will challenge me.
Liebe rouchswalwe, If you can make beers and ales, you can make anything! Looking forward to seeing and hearing all about it.
